Some anecdotes, remarks and observatios regarding Antoine de Bourgogne, or Anthony of Burgundy, the half-brother of Charles the Bold.
Antoine was probably born around 1421. He was the son of the duke of Burgundy Philip the Good and his mistress Jeanne de Presle. He died at Tournehem on 5 May 1504. He was also known as the Big Bastard of Burgundy, which was a title, not an insult. During his life he would play an important role, somewhat in the background (but not quite) of his father the duke of Burgundy and his half-brother Charles, then Count of Charolais, and after the death of Philip in 1467, Duke of Burgundy
